ColourNation: Strand Test

Every person's hair will respond slightly differently to colouring - we can therefore offer you a 'strand' test were we cut a little strand of your hair and colour it. This normally takes about 30 mins. You can then see exactly the colour you will get on your own hair. This process costs £4/per strand and there's nothing stopping you trying several colours to be sure of the one you want.

This service is available mail-order, prior to you visiting the salon, just post in a hair sample, we can colour it according to your preference and mail it back. The reason this is possible is because with our ColourFactory technology we can guarantee that we can produce exactly the same colour we applied to your hair strand, as we will, when you visit the salon. Not many salons can do this (if any). We always have 270 colours available with millions of varitations - exactly the same every time.

You won't be able to see our books with 270 colours for ColourFactory if you send us strands for testing. But what we can do is call you once we have your sample and discuss what you'd like over the phone. Let us say you request a 'chestnut brown', we have many shade variations available for this colour and you won't be able to see each of them or know which is which. We can in discussion get an idea for what you want and when you come in we'll be able to show you how your hair responded to the different colours. From your sample we'll be able to accurately guage how many shades darker/lighter we'll need to go to achieve the actual colour you choose on the day.

The strand test is also very useful if you've had your hair bleaches or treated in otherways. This can have an affect on how the colour will take to your hair. A strand test will help ensure you get the colour you want.
