HI there,..

You probably just need to tone down the gold which would be sorted out with an ash toner.

Regards,

Val

Help! I have blonde highlights, I used a semi perm dye - golden caramel medium blonde, to try to dull them down as I want rid of them, whilst it has darkened them my hair now has a obvious red tinge! any ideas on what I should do? I would rather not go to a salon. help!

Hey there,

It depends on how light a brown you are after.

To strip out the red from the chestnut base you would need a bleach, however your high-lights will suffer from the over-load of bleach.

You could also opt for an ash toner to reduce the red, and then add a fewhigh-lights to brighten it all up, but this will not eliminate the red!

It's difficult to give an exact advice without seeing the hair, shoul you like you could come in for a free consultation.

For further info, or to book your consultation you may contact us on 0207 836 8883.

Regards,

Val

I have had a chestnut base colour done over my mainly blonde hair and then highlights over the top.

However the pigment in the chestnut has come out with a red tint that I hate!

How can I get the base colour to a light brown and can I then put highlights over the top ????

failing that try putting your red pigments back in by using a red colour on a simular base to the colour your wanting to achieve, then colour again with the desired colour. Or go for a copper brown, something with red colours in it.

Hey there,..

Yeah it's probably the bleach high-lights not having enough pigment...

First time colour on bleach tends to fade quicker than it would normally, you need to give that a second go.

Val

soi have red hair with bleach highlights, this past summer i tried to dye my hair med. brown because i liked it and i need a change. ....But i didnt work in about half of a week my color was out! and it was said on the box permanet till
it fades out... and my older sister has red hair and has dyed it multiple times and it stays in and looks great !
Is it because of my bleach highlights? if so how can i get them out? to try to dye my hair agian?

You are probably best seeking professional help. Visit a hair salon and let them fix it for you.

When a home colour goes wrong this is the time to call in the experts as further damage can be caused by failed attempts to fix the orginal problem.

How much if your hair worth to you? We've seen clients who's attempt to fix themselves (or even at less qualified salons) have resulted in having to cut out the worst damage.
