Hey there,

It sounds like those platinum bits are so out of pigment that the brown continues to fade out.

To be frank it is quite normal, you would need to top it up on a regular basis to get the match to your natural.

The idea of putting high-lights back in all dpends firstly if you actually do fancy the blonde (?)

If you do, it should not be a problem,..however I would definitely do it professionally considering your past experience!

Regards,

Val

Highlights ???
G_fairygodmother2@hotmail.com
I have naturally a dark ash blonde hair colour for years i bleached it blonder and damaged my hair to the point it was falling out so stopped applying the bleach and have been growing it out in order for the roots to then match, the rest of the platinum blonde hair i had it dyed brown professionally however a month later the dye hasn't taken to my hair at all it was a permanent dye but my roots are my natural colour and about 4 inches at the bottom is really blonde despite dying it quite a dark brown it hasn't worked, every time i try and dye my hair brown it just ends up looking blonde , i have tried doing it myself as well and brown hair dye just will not take to my hair. I have decided that maybe rather than trying to fight the blonde to highlight the rest of my hair so the blonde ends don't look so bad but am worried about undoing my efforts to grow it all out by damaging it. Will highlighting my hair damage it all again?
