Hello i'm 18 and have recently finished my training for hairdressing i got a job in a hairdressing salon that does extensions and, is a wholesailors and beauty salon. I thought this job would be a great oportunity to learn a bit of everything within hairdressing and as i also did beauty therapy at college i could do that aswell. However now i have come to do hairdressing i seem to be completely lost the other day i blowdryed a clients hair and the lady came back and complained and the hairdresser had to finish the blowdry i feel i should know how to blowdry hair already, and this has upset me a lot and put me off a bit i am also scared to cut hair, i don't know if it is because the college i went to has not taught me well or because i've just lost confidence , in college i didn't seem to have a problem and my blowdries turned out fine, even better towards the end of the course. Could someone please give me some advice as this is really getting me down.

Everyone has to start somewhere :)
Don't be upset perhaps your salon put you under too much pressure too early, perhaps the blow dry you did would have been fine for most people but was not right for that particular client.
College can teach you so much but you need practical experience too, practice, practice, practice. Find friends you can practice on and watch, watch, watch what the experienced stylists are doing in the salon whenever you get a minute.
