Hiya guys! I wonder if any of you would be able to help me? Im a newly qualified hairdresser who has red hair, and i would like to know if any of you could reccommend either a box hair colour or a proffessional hair colour that i could use.

Im currently having to grow my roots until theyre around 2 inches until im able to bleach them and put on the colour as my friends at work say that if i dont grow my roots to around 2 inches i will get a band when they put the bleach on my roots.

Its killing me having to walk around with 2 inch dark roots and bright red hair on the ends, it looks awful!
Im using the xxl live box colour and fire crazy colour all over my hair. I dont mind using these colours as this is the only colour ive found that gets me the bright red hair that desire.

So basically i was wondering if any of you know of any colour that would lift my hair to the colour that i wanted without having to grow my roots to 2 inches before im able to dye it :(.

I will post a picture of me with my red hair, my natural colour is around the same colour as my eyebrow in the picture.

Any advice would be much appreciated thank you so much in advance xx

Great hair colour first of all!!

I think it would really be a bad idea trying to change the colour as I think THAT will definitely give you some serious banding!!

To be honest I don;t understand why you need to wait for 2 inches of re-growth to apply the colour.... I think again, that could give you banding... having one inch of re-growth is more than enough to touch-up your roots...especially as the intensity of the colour of those roots furthest away from the scalp will have less heat from the scalp (though should be minor)/....

are you sure you didn;t mean to say centimetres?

(then I'd totally agree with your colleagues!)
