Hi there,...

No, a high-lift colour will not cover white hair,..the only thing it may do is tone it,..however it will lighten the 'rest' (natural hair), and automatically blend.

Val

I have a client with natuaral base roots of a level 6 and the lengths and ends are a base of a 9 she now wants to change to a base 8 how do i best apply this to her hair? Should I apply to roots and leave for 20mins then apply to length and ends and leave for 15mins or do i apply straigth through or any other way. with me just lifting the roots should i be using a 20vol peroxide.

Kind regards

Hi there,...

Well as you well know, different brands act differently, but surely if you want to lift those roots you will need more than 20 vol.
As for toning down the ends I would go for sometrhing softer like toners/semi-tint.

Regards,

Val

I COLOURED MY FRIENDS MUMS HAIR USEING INGORE 12.22 AND 40VOL LEFT FOR 40MINS.SHE IS A BASE 6 AND HAD BLEACH ON THE ENDS OF HER HAIR.I APPLYED TO ROOTS FIRST THEN ENDS THE ROOTS CAME OUT ORANGE SHE ONLY HAS 10% WHITE IF THAT WHY HAS THIS HAPPENED? I FEEL TRUELY AWFUL ALTHOUGH SHE WAS FINE ABOUT IT.

Hi there,

Yeah the problem you had there, was that most of the hair is a base 6,..and of course it would be impossible to match those bleached out ends with just a high-lift colour.

what you could do to fix the problem is to tone the whole thing down,..by using different toners on roots,..and something darker on the ends.

Regards,

Val
