Thanks!

I'd not even really considered a semi permanent. At least I can keep doing that while they grow out :)

Someone else has suggested (for a permanent) Clairol Herbal Essences, as they don't contain any ammonia, but I think I will stick to the semi perm idea, as it sounds less risky!

Hi there,

It would not be aa disaster, but you have to be a bit careful with applying it.

If you do not want to go to a salon, try to et a frend to help you out, u need to pack the hair quite wll to avoid the colour turning out patchy!

If I were in your shoes, Iwould try first with a toner or a semi-permanent, as close to your natural colour as possible.

If you do not have a lot of roots, from your last set of high-lights this is certainly the time to do it...as the toner will still leave your lights shining abit through.

Good luck!

Val

Colour over highlights
G_Sarah
Hi

Wonder if you can help. I've been having my hair highlighted for some time (think it's mainly a highlift tint, but possibly some bleach). Trouble is, I've just gotten sick of paying for the upkeep and really would like to go back to being dark. Aside from that, I have just been made redundant so keeping up the highlights is not an option anyway. My natural colour (between the highlights and the roots is a mousey brown.

Would really like to go a chestnutty brown colour. Would it be a disaster for me to put a chestnut permanent colour over the top? I don't want it to go a strange colour.

Has anyone any advice?
