THis is very common; it happened to me when I first began highlighting. Find a friend whose highlights you love and go to her colorist. Have them lowlight the orange with an ashy brown to tone it down. Condition and let your hair rest a couple of weeks.

When I went through this, I asked several colorists and the consensus was that it takes about six months to truly get the color you want. It took me about six months as my strands are dark and thick. Eventually, we learned my colorist must add several scoops of bleaching agent to the mix to get the hair to "lift". I also require longer than average time spent with foils in my hair and under the heat lamp. Otherwise, it's hair a'la orange! Lastly, to get that extra brightness around the face, you may need to triple process as I do. That is, after the foils are done, the colorist has to reapply the color/bleach and refoil around the face for a second or third "lift", giving you that extra blonde brightness around the face. This is especially flattering in the summer months.

Bottomline, your colorist is not giving you the time, attention, and proper chemical treatment for your money. Don't go back. My friends and I have all gone through several colorists before we found the right one. Take a picture of hair you love with you, develop a relationship with the colorist, explain you detest orange hair so that the colorist gets a clear understanding of what they SHOULD NOT DO TO YOU, and go for it. This is not beyond the scope of man.

I did the same thing. My hair colorist friend told me to buy a 10 volume developer and a 9 NA tupe of toner to get rid of the red.

Hey,
My hair was already blonde but I had some roots so I put an ash perminent die on it for the maximim time. My roots turned orange so I put another ash on it but it still hasnt gone!
I cannot dye it again as it will dry out my hair too much, iv tried blonde shampoos, ash toners, and i dont have enough money to get it done proffesionly.
Help!

you can go back to brown by putting a brown with red in the colour, which you have to put the red pigment back into the hair which the bleach originally stripped the hair of. as said above it went orange as the colour wasnt left on long enough but you can damage the hair folicles by leaving it on too long then put your colour brown you want on top of that so the hair colour will have something to stick to once the rde has been put back in., or if you want to stay blonde go to a hair manufacturer like sallys and get a tube of colour and seperate peroxide bottle a low volume choosing the blonde you want but choose a ash colour not golden colour or it wil stay orange./leave orange tones

You'd probably be best with an ash toner...
