Hello Grant, I smile to myself in the mirror and instead the silence or 'not too bad' comments I get WOW all the time thank you again.

Orange Hair! |

Hi I have now been to two hairdressers in one day, first to have my hair lightened which turned out very orange and bland, then the second to try and add definition and remove the orange look. All I have ended up with is an orange blonde hair with lighter blonde highlights and I hate it. What can I do to get rid of the orange and tone down the blonde so that I can look relatively normal again? Please help!
Can I buy a toner from boots to remove this issue, without having to damage my hair any further than it already is, I just wish I'd left well alone. Please note my natural colour is medium brown.

i wouldnt try anything on my own. you should have went back to teh first hairdressor and made her fix it. you might try giong back to the second one and making her fix it. You can try doing lowlights which is where they put in darker colors to even out the orange and blond highlights or you might have to color your whole head with a permanent hair color and put a few highlights in that way.

In the short term if you really hate it you should get a temporary dye like an ash blonde colour (not one that lightens hair - it will look balckish brown in the tube)as the tones will help to even out and reduce the orange. Having suffered this myself I also recommend using L'oreal shine blonde shampoo and conditioner which is purple and tones down brassiness. Also you can get a mousse in Boots etc which is purple and does the same thing,
The thing to remember is that you obviously have a lot of red in your natural hair colour so when you go to the ahirdressers again, steer clear of any pink, goldy, orangey tones as they will make it worse and go for ashy, cooler colours which will complement the tone.

The orange will probably fade away after many showers

If you put brown over the orange it will go green.... the only thing you can do is dye it a red/brown colour and start again. It will have gone ornage because your hairdresser didn't leave it on long enough. Ash blonde will help get rid of the yellow/oranage tones. If I were you, i'd start again.

You'd probably be best with an ash toner...

you can go back to brown by putting a brown with red in the colour, which you have to put the red pigment back into the hair which the bleach originally stripped the hair of. as said above it went orange as the colour wasnt left on long enough but you can damage the hair folicles by leaving it on too long then put your colour brown you want on top of that so the hair colour will have something to stick to once the rde has been put back in., or if you want to stay blonde go to a hair manufacturer like sallys and get a tube of colour and seperate peroxide bottle a low volume choosing the blonde you want but choose a ash colour not golden colour or it wil stay orange./leave orange tones
