Ahhhhh more orange-haired people! I'm so glad I'm not alone!!
For nearly a year I've been going through a process of lightening my hair from black, through to dark red, through to a fairly light and bright Live XXL red. I lifted the black with Clairol Born Blonde enough to do it red, and then went from there. Yes it went orange but I figured that because I was doing it red it didn't matter, and then promptly forgot how orange it went (as you do... sigh!) I've let the colour fade to the point that I'd usually re-dyed it. My hair is naturally a medium to light ash blonde, but It hasn't seen the light of day for so many years i forgot how it looked! So, I got the Born Blonde again and as you can imagine, we're quite orange. We're not talking Hayley-Williams-Paramore orange, but coppery orange. This isn't me but this is effectively the colour it's gone (except with some white-blonde roots and more golden tones. Sod's flipping law) : http://guides.wikinut.com/img/1qz91my ... /Orange-hair-dye-disaster So as you can see it isn't hideous, but it looks somewhat silly. Can anyone advise me with what to do? I'm ok to give it a serious cut if needs be to reduce split ends (after first bleaching they aren't too much worse than they already were) so I'm pretty much willing to give anything a try. HELP!

Hey there,
It depends on the type od extensions you are after, You are very likely to find any shade under the sun in non-human hair extensions and in clip-in versions. Finding orange human hair pre-bonded extensions might be a bit more tricky as the demand in minimal if even existent. Question is are you after a natural copper tone or more of a bright neon party version? If so, check-out hen party sites etc,,, they're always well stocked. Regards, Val

Hey there,
Since you now want to go darker I would use a semi, or an amonia-free colour which will allow you to colour it straight away without worrying about further damage. ![]() regards, Val

hello!
i recently went to hairdressers to get 3/4 head highlights. they bleached my hair and used a toner. it came out very light pale ash nearly platinum blonde and i hated it!! did not suit me one bit! i didnt want to go back so that same night i got a darker blonde permanent hair dye and went over my hair with that. i came out orange! then a day later i dyed my hair AGAIN with light brown and its a little better more browny but with tinge of orange and green .very brassy. its been a week. my hair is very dry. i want to dye over it with a medium brown colour hoping that it will cover all that. but im worried its too soon and may damage my hair even more! what to do???

The thing to remember is that you obviously have a lot of red in your natural hair colour so when you go to the ahirdressers again, steer clear of any pink, goldy, orangey tones as they will make it worse and go for ashy, cooler colours which will complement the tone.

Hey there,
Unfortunately no, it doesnl'treally fade out, it may however loose the intensity of the redness. What you definitely could do is give your hair a bit of a break and then apply an ash toner to counter-act the redness. Regards, Val
