Hey Sandra,
We do not advise to have Straightenings or Brazilian smoothing systems while pregnant, it is best to leave it after birth. ...besides you are likely to need it more during that period is it will make your hair more practical and easier to manage ![]() Regards, Val

Hi there,
We'd advise against doing a straightening while pregnant - althought there's no firm evidence either way. There's no proof that either IHR or Brazilian straightening would have any negative effect but it's always best to be cautious - our children our are just too precious. There's the same debate about hair colouring during pregnancy - some people do and some don't. There's no real evidence either way. Highlights like an IHR regrowth won't touch the scalp very much if at all and so in theory should further reduce any risk. It might be worth noting that in our view IHR is kinder on your hair (and therefore you) than Yuko and that the Brazilian system is kinder again (but has to be done more). Sorry we can't be clearer for you. But there doesn't seem to be any proof either way and so it comes down to personal preference. Andrew (hope that fits with what i said elsewhere - if it was me - i searched our site i couldn't find anything here, and we rarely post to other sites as we have enough to do here) ![]()
