Yes they are professional use only (mainly because tehy have to be applied with a special difuser). Don't know any salons in Canada who offer this service - suggest a google search.

Hello, my name is Maryanne and am interested in either product. I have recently had hair extensions put in and my own hair has suffered damage and I am looking for a repair product to use when I soon remove them. I came across this thread through my web search...all very interesting and I wish you all the best with your respective products.
I would like to know, being a resident of Toronto, Canada, where can I obtain these products? Are they for professional use only? If so, where would be the closest salon I can visit for treatment? Many thanks for your reply. Best regards, Maryanne

Hi Andrew, I'd just like to add my comments to Gerald's last posting.

As I understand it, Tanagra has been "preparing the documentation" for the EU since 2005.

In order to clarify the differences, I am grateful for this medium to be able to reassure all readers that the high quality NANOMAX products at least fully comply and have always met or exceeded the strict EU Health and Safety requirements and the requirements of the equally stringent American FDA.

All the ingredients found in NANOMAX products are independently verified as being completely safe and furthermore are EU licenced for cosmetic use.

Manufactured to the highest standards, the NANOMAX salon equipment also complies with all current EU legislation for electrical safety.

NANOMAX is supplied to professional salons only to ensure the finest results.

I am happy to confirm that there is absolutely no current connection between the NANOMAX and Tanagra companies. My company used to distribute Tanagra until we encountered a number of insurmountable problems with the products, equipment and the supply and communication chains, and switched to NANOMAX when we were given the fortuitous opportunity. Preferred by salon professionals, NANOMAX products are now being sold successfully all around the world.

A lot of water has passed under the bridge since we established NANOMAX. There are no bad feelings on my side and I would like to wish Tanagra well in all their efforts.

With Best Wishes for Christmas and the New Year,

Mark Holmes

hi Samantha

Tanagra has temporarily ceased to be available in Europe due to some new EU documentation requirements. Whilst Tanagra prepares the documentation there will be no product available for hair salons. This is expected to be resolved shortly.

The good news with Tanagra is that they are launching four new products to be used with their nano aspersion machines and these too will be available to the EU in the very near future.

As Andrew has indicated you might want to read the whole thread regarding the Tanagra / Nanomax situation. The EU supplier for Nanomax used to be the Tanagra supplier to the UK but legally this is no longer the case.

The Nanomax and Tanagra companies are unrelated.

Kind Regards
Gerald

We haven't heard anything about harmful chemicals (in order to be sold in the UK in the first place it would have to have been rigourously tested to get EU certification).

Read the whole thread on this topic but Nanomax appears to have superceeded/upgraded Tanagra hence why Tanagra's not being offered so much any more.

Hi

I am interested in using Tangra for my hair but would like to know why has this product been ceased since August?
Is it because it contains harmful chemicals?
And whats the difference between Tanagra and Nanomax

Thanks

Samatha

Hi Andrew

Tanagra is taking this situation very seriously.

As it stands both of Marks previous websites, www.tanagra4hair.co.uk and www.tanagra4hair.com actually still point to his new Nanomax websites. So currently anyone using his Tanagra sites will be taken straight through to his Nanomax sites. Enough said I think ...

Best of luck with the Nanomax Andrew and thanks again ...

Regards
Gerald

I wouldn't say Gerald has made personal attacks - he clearly has issues with how Nanomax has been introduced in the UK and elsewhere and if anything could be accused of going over issues which were already resolved in this thread.

In business it is natural to try to gain leverage in what ever area you are working. For a company that used to distribute Tanagra to use it's connections when introducing a new product wouldn't seem any worse that when a distributor moves from one brand of hair brush to another.

There is this whole 'upgrade' issue but I think we have covered that already.

I will note that the Nanomax page states...

'Now, from the company that brought you TANAGRA, the world's first permanent hair repair service, comes the latest scientific breakthrough in professional hair care - NANOMAX.'

at http://www.nanomax.co.uk/advanced-care.html

I can see that this could cause confusion. Mark will argue he's talking about his company as distributor while Gerald will say that people will think Tanagra is being refered to.

Perhaps it should be reworded to...

'Now, from the *distribution* company that brought you TANAGRA, the world's first permanent hair repair service...'

Andrew

p.s. As of today 18/01/08, 3,600+ consumers have found the discussion interesting enough to read through - so there is an audience very interested in this topic.

Hi Andrew,

As requested I have tried to do my best to settle any confusion if it existed. I must say I find Geralds’ latest personal attacks rather offensive but I am not going to lower myself to schoolboy rhetoric.

I would like to say that I still consider the US Distributor, Mathew Grandi, a good friend and his help in the past has been very much appreciated.

With the greatest respect to Gerald, his other remarks and twisted perspective of the situation aren’t worthy of any further comment.

God Bless Australia.

Best Wishes,

Mark

Hi Gerald,

I think we have to recognise that there aren't many places on the web where such a discussion can happen - therefore a little deviation is allowed.

I think consumers (certainly our website readers anyway) love knowing EVERYTHING about a product they're going to be spending their hard earned cash on. They'll decide what is and isn't relevant. Certainly any consumer reading this thread will know a lot about the two products before they make any choices which is probably just as well.

The only place I would draw the line is if we deteriate into a slagging match and/or personal comments. (But I think we're all too professional to let that happen).

Thanks again

Andrew

p.s. 'Being that this is the "tip of the iceberg", Tanagra has decided not to let these actions go by unresponded.' What does this mean? Are you suggesting Tanagra are going legal? And if so on what grounds? I ask this because if Tanagra is taking action it will give consumers an idea of how seriously Tanagra is taking these issues.

p.p.s. We do try to be fair and will try to make clear to consumers our own bias where appriate. We're just glad to be able to provide a forum for discussion of such important issues.
