I've been using Wella Strate for almost two years now.
Sometime I get good result sometime I don't, all from the same stylist.

Hi all,

Just a word of warning on this thread.

Straightening systems are generally designed for professional stylists to apply.

Applying a system like Wellastrate can go **BADLY WRONG**.

Some people home colour their hair, normally any mistakes can be fixed by a skilled stylist/colourist if there is a problem after application BUT with straightening while a salon may be able to improve the condition of your hair sometimes the damage is so bad that recovery is not possible. We've seen ladies in tears after trying things themselves and then having to cut waist length hair to remove self inflicted damage.

And... many salons may not do straightening very often, they may simply have watched a training video so make sure you check how experienced your chosen salon is before paying for treatment.

Hope it helps

Andrew

Hi Anon,

For the steps you described...does I need dry the hair after rinsing and before ironing?

1. Apply straightening cream. Leave on for about 1-1.5 hrs. Rinse.
<Dry?>
2. Straighten hair with flat iron
3. Apply neutralizer cream. Leave on for about 30mins. Rinse.
<Dry?>
4. Straighten again with flat iron

Cheers

I have curly but very fine hair. I would love to have it chemically straightened as this would save me a lot of time with straighteners and would also mean that I would have fewer split ends, however, I am scared that if I chemically straightened it it would end up too flat and lifeless.
Does anyone know which of these straightening treatments are mild enough that they leave hair smooth and frizz free without being pancake straight?

Now this next part is up to you, depending on how long you want to leave it in. After you've straighten your hair that second time, ideally you want to leave it unwashed for a couple of days. Sounds a little gross but that lets the chemical sets. When I had it done on my trip to VN the hairstylist told me to wash it after 3 days. It lasted over a year.

Hi, i bought wellastrate off the internet and tried it on my hair without flat irons(cold treatment i think) but it didnt work.does anyone know how to use it with flat irons? I was told i could use it with flat irons to make the result better but it doesn't say anything about that in the instructions!

We'd obviously recommend the IHR straightening system as the prefered choice.
