Hi all,
i have had the brazilian keratin treatment done and even though it improved the condition of my hair, it did not make it poker straight. I have had wellastrate done recently, but I did mention that I still wanted to wear my hair curly, so they left the product in for less time than they usually would. Now, I have poker stright hair when I use the straightners and lovely wavy non firzzy hair when I don't. I would recommend this to everybody as my hair is now in better condition as I use the wella straight shampoo and leave in conditioner.

Hi there,..

Well the main difference between the two really is that the Brazillian straightening unlike Wella strate is chemical free, and being a keratin-based product it's like doing a treatment at the same time so improoves the quality of your hair.

What one needs to keep in mind is that both products are semi-permanent so they will not give you poker straight hair, for that one would need one of the japanese straighhtenings such as IHR.

The advantage of the Brazillian straightening one can do any type of colour including bleach, and can also move to the permanent straightening from it too, while Wellastrate limits you as you can't put a permanent straightening on it or use bleach.

Regards,

Val

I have been looking at a lot of different sites and I think that Wellastrate will definitely help me as I am lazy when it comes to my hair and hate blow drying and straightening it. My mum however is concerned my hair will fall out or be badly damaged, even though I want to get ut done at a salon. Is there any danger of this happen? My hair is frizzy/curly/wavy/straight in places and has fried ends from my GHDS. Please help me convince her that it will b fine, I've been saving up for ages to get it done!

Hi all i've got a question about this product. First of all i'm a guy and my hair is medium length. I style my hair every morning using wax and hair straighteners to make it spiky etc, but i've heard that using this product can make your hair straight but also "KEEP" the style for up to 6 months.

I know products like this are meant to straighten your hair but i am more interested in the part about keeping your hairstyle the same, does that really work? I think it locks or freezes your hairstyle, just like how it keeps your hair straight. I've never tried it and don't know anyone who has used it be4, can someone give me some info on this? Thanks

oh by the way i forgot to ask, are there any side effects using Wellastrate? Like do you have to be very careful not to let the product touch your scalp or skin? I plan to do it myself at home and have no experience of using any of this product or hair colouring product. But i'm not going to use an insane amount since i'm a guy and just wanna style my hair so that it stays like that for a long time and keep my bangs straight in the front......that's it.

Hi there,

With Wellastrate the main thing you would need to be very careful not to get any on your scalp if you intend doing it yourself.

Val

Hi, a question about wellastrate.

I'm a guy with medium length hair, if I'm doing the wellastrate treatement myself, do I need to use a proper brush for it or can I just apply the cream using my fingers?

Also, do you use the wella straight saver after straightening it or is that really not that necessary?

Thanks.

step away from the product...

we SERIOUSLY don't advise you to try and do this yourself.

If you colour your hair and make a mistake we can probably fix it for you. BUT if you get this wrong you could end up having to cut off the damaged hair. The risk is just too high to take in our opinion.

(Obviously Wellastrate is a professional salon product and should only be used by professional stylists.)

Andrew

Thanks. Much appreciated. I guess it's better to use the normal iron straighteners for some light straghtening if one really has to do it himself on a regular basis.

Thanks again.
