ahh i have the exact same problem with my hair.
my hair is usually a dark blonde - light brown, but i recently wanted a light blonde colour, so i bought Clairol Nice'n'easy extra light blonde, and it turned a yellow/orange/goldy colour which i hate, my mum said she wont take me to the hairdressers to get it done so i tried dying it again with Garnier Extra Light blonde, and it did the same except lighter ends. At my roots it is completley bright orange/yellow! i was told to use anti-dandruff shampoo, and to keep washing it, but i can't see this working very quickly. I was also told to put a light brown wash-out colour in to fade the permanent, but i don't want to ruin my hair, by continuing to die it!! i read the dishwashing liquid comment, but are you sure that works? i don't want it to ruin my hair!!... ahhhhh help!!

Hey there...
unfortunately, what you have to understand is that a colour can;t make a nother dye go any lighter.... the only way to make something dyed lighter is by using bleach. So the options are actually to either use bleach or go darker... As for the dandruff shampoo story,...it can help to make a colour fade,..but certainly won;t eliminate yellow/orange tones.... Regards, Val

Hey..
I have sort of the same problem, this is the second time i have tried to dye my hair back blonde, from brown myself at home, ive got the orange look. But ive booked myself into the hairdressers later on today to get it sorted. Personally i think you done the right thing goin to your salon, but maybe the wrong one? To be honest they should have done a better job, i would go back if i was you and complain, never leave untill your happy. I think they may put a toner on, maybe help blend it? Not sure but in my opinion go back. Good Luck x ![]()

When my hair went an orangey yellow my hairdresser told me not to use anymore bleach it will make it worse! Use a cool toner and some silvery hair mouse as it will cool down the warm shades. Good Luck :)

Hey there...
YOur hairdresser is right in saying it will make things worse,...but that would be condition-wise....If one wants to make the colour lighter the only way is to use bleach. Regards, Val

I have always had light brown hair with blonde highlights. This year i thought id do something different by putting in a lowlight! That came out fine but very dull so I went to another hairdresser and got blonde highlights. Well its not so terrible but the highlights are a bit yellow and the lowlights are redish tint and I really dont like it. It definitly doesnt resemble the sunkissed look I used to have. Should I go back to the hairdresser? or is there another way to fix it?

Hi there...
I would start with going back to the hairdresser and explain, what you would have liked your hair to be,..there's a good chance they'll be able to fix it with some toners. ![]() regards, Val
