Re: Help needed with Matrix Opti Smooth Please !?
G_amanda@purplerhino.co.uk
Hi There,
I wondered if anyone can help me ? I had my hair straightened with the Matrix Opti Smooth the "Cold" Treatment and although my hair is fine and curly it tends to be rather frizzy curls - I had this treatment done 4 weeks ago, I have high lifts in my hair and maybe bleach from about 4 years ago, but it was fab until I washed it 48 hours later, it's definately not straight and it still has a frizz to it ? Feel very sad after £150 later ! I wondered if anyone could tell me if I can have anything else put on it now like Wella Strate or Yuko or Colour Nation ???? I have been told I have to wait at least 6 months until my roots grow so I can have the Matrix Opti Smooth "Hot" treatment put onto the roots and this will hopefully make the curl fall less as its done from the roots ? Do you think this is my only option or by me having just the roots done will this help ??
Any suggestions very welcome !!
Thanks,
Amanda

Hi If anyone knows where in Germany I can have the wellastrate treatment please let me know. I had it done last year in Peru, and now I want to have it done again. I just love it, it is the best thing to have straight hair without doing anything at all.
Thanks
Lea

Hi,

Wellastrate is great and i guess it did not have any side effects other than some split ends which is normal if we use chemicals or straightening products...I have used wellastrate almost 3 times now in an interval of 9months..i had very curly and frizzy hair and this cream made my hair almost 80%straight..now i have wavy hair..i make sure i condition my hair nd cut my splits...just follow the instructions on the leaflet and that shud be fine.

We should add that we actually do Wellastrate at ColourNation but it's generally not as popular as permentant hair straightening, perhaps because the results don't last as long and aren't as straight as has been noted. But we do offer the service here.

I would also urge caution with attempting to use this product at home - it is a professional product. The damage incorrect application could do could take months if not years to grow-out.

Hi - I've booked in to have the Wellastrate 'hot' treatment at Toni&Guy in Glasgow the day after tomorrow. I've got frizzy, irregularly wavy hair which I have to tie back in a bun all the time - unless I spend 40 mins with the hair dryer and GHDs! I understand it will not make my hair permanently poker straight - but should make it easier to manage. I would like to know however, that should I choose at some point in the future to have IHR done, would the fact that my hair has been treated with Wellastrate matter?

Thanks, Cat.

Hi Cat,...

Yeah, unfortunately it would matter, as one wouldn;t be able to put the IHR treatment onto where your hair would have been treated with Wellastrate.

which would result in having half your hair straight..

regards

Val

I would agree with Val with one note...

Yes what ever you use on your hair will have an effect on your hair. The likelyhood is that using another system on your hair may a) damage your hair to a point where IHR permentant straightening may not be viable or b) affect how the IHR system would work on your hair.

In either case our advise would be not to risk it but if you do and your hair isn't breaking or badly damaged your welcome to come in for a free consultation where we can examine the strength / health of your hair to see wether IHR would be viable.

Also remember that almost as important as the system being used is the experience of the stylist. Someone who's just read the leaflet and watched a DVD could seriously ruin your hair with any of these systems. Be very careful. If a colour goes wrong it can be fixed reasonably easily, if a straightening goes wrong it can take months to grow out.

Cheap is never cheap when your hair is at risk. We've seen customers of certain large chains in tears because their hair has been ruined by inexperienced stylists doing straightenings.

Hi there,...

If your hair is already particularly damaged/dry, of course a straightening system is not going to improve the condition, but it will help with the managability.

Once the straightening is done the treated hair stays straight, and subsequent treatments would be only on the re-growth (your new hair).

Of course every case is treated individually, and here at ColourNation we make consultations before booking an actual treatment.

Conultations are free and with no obligation.

to book for your free consultation you may contact us on 0207 836 8883.

Regards,

Val
