Heya..

Well, like most of you on here, I have had an orange disaster! My hair is very long and very thick, but thankfully in very good condition. It is natrually a mousy/medium brown colour. For the past few years Ive been having half head weave hi-light foils, which have virtually built up to an all over multi-tonal blonde.

My regular hairdresser left my salon, and after using her for so long, I was reluctant to go to someone else. My hair grows quickly, so I have really bad roots by 6 weeks. My mom convinced me she could do an all over blonde on my roots which would match the rest of my hair.. how wrong was this! She bleached my roots last week, and after using loads of purple shampoo, they are still orangey/yellow :(

Thankfully the rest of my hair is still fine, so I can get away with wearing a hat for now. My mom rang her hairdressers to book me an appointment for colour correction and he reckons he is not sure if he will be able to do it? He says he needs to look at it first, but there is no gurantee he will be able to do anything for me.

What can I expect? :(

I would be very very careful. This happened to me about fifteen years ago. Basically I always had blond highlights then one day I went to another hairdresser and he said "oh would you like to try a full tint for a change". I replied well it would be nice to have a full colour but my concern is that happens if the colour you put in the highlighted hair is different to the roots colour. Oh he said it wont be a problem. Anyway, he put on the colour and my head started to burn so had to point this out to him, he then proceeded to wash off the product. I was horrified to see I had orange roots and left furious and very distressed. I remember I had to spend xmas with this awful looking hair and was most embarrassed on the train to work. Anyway when I got home I immediately rang and was told it was too soo to come back and that I should wait three weeks. Three weeks later I went back and surprise surprise the male hairdresser who did this to my hair had left the country on holiday (he incidentally was also the owner)! Well the other guy said he would try and put it right and hence plonked 30 volumne peroxide onto the roots to try and get the orange out again I had a bit of burning. Well it was rinsed off, this time the end result was yellow roots as opposed to orange. Clearly, I was still very unsatisfied so I had to go to another hairdresser and incur more expense to get it put right. Luckily this particular hairdresser in Beckenham managed to put it right and also advised me of the schwarkopf colours I should use. It does not end there as I sued my hairdresser for £350.00 damages which at the time was quite a lot. Good luck and let me know if you manage to get it put right.

I am only writing this as sooooo many people seam to have the same problems even though all our hair is so different. 2 days ago I went from Ashy Blonde, Light Ash Brown ( Vanilla Blonde Nutrisse ) to ORANGE/COPPPER/GINGER BLONDE from using Loreal Expert...the make your own highlights kit....***can't memba exact name as I was very upset when throwing out box****.
I have mousy brown/ashy blonde har naturally so I am unsure WHY my hair become highlighted with this light yet OBVIOUS orange hue....
ANYWAY to cut this scary story short, I went straight down to PRICE ATTACK ( Australian Hairdresser and product Supplier) without having to pay for the advice, the register staff showed me a brilliant product that would TONE DOWN AND COUNTERACT the brassiness/orange tint without actually re-dying and BONUS it was a conditioning treatment...IGORA by Schwarzkopf, it's a colour mousse that you apply after shampooing. And it was only $20.
It has worked very well.
It may be just what you need, but all you can do is GO IN AND ASK, maybe PRICE ATTACK or a company similar.... they don't charge you, all you do is pay for the product!!!!

Hi there,..

she might just need to put an ash/silver toner on top of those roots,.. however I doubt that this will match the rest of your hair.

Perhaps you could look into adding some high-lights on the 'yellow' area, and tone after.

Regards,

Val
