Hey there,..
try topping it up with an ash toner for the moment to turn it into more of a warm brown. Give your hair a bit of a rest then add more blonde high-lights making it more multi-tonal. Regards, Val

I have been colouring my hair for about 8 months. I naturaly have blonde hair and I am trying to go back to it. Right now I have dark brown hair. I was told not to strip my hair but to start putting highlights in. So I went to get highlights. The highlights turned orange. What should I do?

I have naturally dirty blonde hair. I have been getting highlights for several years professionally & sometimes get some lowlights close to my natural color added in. This past time I got some extra lowlights put in. I was starting to have some regrowth & decided I wanted to go super light blonde, like the white color of my highlights all over. I knew I needed an ash, so I bought Loreal lightest ash blonde. My roots & where the lowlights were still turned a really yellowy orange. Everywhere else it looks great! I am going to the salon in 3 wks & will try to get it fixed. Is there anything I can do in the meantime to tone it down some? Also, when I go to the salon, do you think I will still be able to go really light or are they going to have to go darker to fix it?

you must dye it an ash color, (ash blonde/brown) and that will cover over the brassy color. also, to strengthen your damaged hair- you should use warm oil treatments &&trim it.

Hi there,...
I would say with prom being round the corner I wouldn't take the risk of trying to go lighter. With all the red in your hair it is bound to go orange if you try to go lighter. You could opt for a bleach,..but again too risky to be doing at home. I would go for a darker shade till prom, then take the plunge with going lighter after. Might be a good idea to use a semi-permanent colour, which will be easier to bleach out when you decide to go lighter. Go for Mahogany, or Choclate in the meantime. regards, Val

Well, here is my delemma. A few months back, right around Thanksgiving, I dyed my hair a reddish-brown. I had been doing so with the same color for several months. After I dyed it around Thanksgiving, I stopped and let it grow. My hair is exactly shoulder length with layers starting around my cheeks. I have prom coming up in about 3 weeks and I'm trying to figure out what to do. I don't enjoy walking around like Cruela-Devil. My roots, about an inch, are my natural light ash blonde color. The rest of my hair is the faded dye which I would now say still has lots of red in it, but for the most part appears like a burnt brownish-orange. it's gross and disgusting, especially with the light blonde roots. I need suggestions for 'do-it-at-home' coloring. We don't have the money for a stylist, and my mom use to be one many years ago-but isn't sure of what to do exactly to guarantee that it won't come out copper. Please throw some suggestions my way. We're trying to get it to as far away from orange and as close to a blonde as possible. No playboy platinum blonde. Just enough to fade with my natural color. Help??

The ideal scenario woud be to do some fine weaves at the top,..however you wouldn;t be able to do this on your own...
