Oh god done the same at least Im not alone! I am tempted to go a chestnut colour at least that has a red base and it wont go green - or will it. Either way I have an interview in 7 days time what the hell do I do............any advice please. My hair is a yellowy blonde on top, but the ends are orange, and I mean tango orange! Should I bleach the ends again hoping to lift the orange out and take the risk of breakage? Also is it a toner I would use to calm it down e.g. 24 wash colourant, because I hae just been to the shop and thought it would have to be a permanent colour I place on it to make a difference? I know if I want to keep going with blonde then I will have to use a ash blonde, which is where I want to be.
I am not going to cry if the worst omes to the worst I wll get it cut out.

My is naturally very light brown..but with highlights it went blonde.

Tried to go back to the natural colour to match my root regrowth and the Idiot of a hair dresser who promised me wouldn't go red/ orrange put some brown semi-permanent gunk on my hair that washes out after 4-6 weeks...yep its washing out to a gross orange colour now :( SO UPSET!!!

Not sure quite what do do either, this is the advice I have gathered from various people

1/ Put an ash coloured toner over
2/Wash with Toni & Guy's blue shampoo for platinum blondes.
3/Shave your hair off..wasn't too enamoured with that remark either
4/Bleach wash it (Not recommended)
5/Wash with Strong Anti-Dandruff shampoo, Add Baking Powder to your shampoo, use volumising and washing hair with dishwashing liquid :(
6/Add highlights and lowlights
7/Coconut Oil all over your hair, Massage then wash out.

Not quite sure what to do..Why do I do these Stupid things to my hair!!??..it was looking so good :( HUGE REGRET!!

Hi guys just thought i'd comment as I am nearing the end of my ongoing orange saga...

Firstly I had very dry damaged porous blonde hair.. and I mean white blonde!!

This was done by a friend who is a hairdresser.. as he got more relaxed around me ..he started to botch my hair and was often high most of the time he was bleaching! not cool!

Anyway about 5 months ago he did such a bad job I ended up with hair that looked very patchy! some bits white and some yellow and some bright orange!
Even toners didn't combat it.. no blue/purple shampoo helped.

I don't care what anyone says it is the most horrible experience to have orange hair, I stopped going out with my friends etc.. when your hair isn't right you just don't feel good.. our hair is our mane after all!

Anyway here's what I have been doing in the past few months..

1. EXTREME CONDITION

My hair was in awful porous damaged condition.. so i knew the first thing i had to do was to get that sorted.. i had regular tanagra treatments (now nanomax) this has been a hair-saver!
I recommend this as the first thing you should do with orange hair!
No GOOD hairdresser will want the liability of it breaking off if you are planning to go blonde.
So condition is top priority for orange hair.

After a full course of tanagra/nanomax treatments and regular top-up's
mine is a lot healthier.

2. COVER UP'S

Now your hair is in tip top condition and shining..you need to think about covering up the orange.. I owe my social life to clip in hair extensions..
You can buy these from most afro hair shops or salons.. and they are an easy way to cover up orange bits(such as I had) I had a massive orange band around the back of my hair!

Hairbands are great also for orange partings, as it breaks up the colour! also wide black hairbands are bang on trend at the moment.

3. THE HARD BIT

So after you hair is in great condition now comes the annoying bit.. I went into my hairdresser expecting a quick fix.
Don't trust a hairdresser who is willing to bleach your hair repeatedly.. this will literally zap the life out of your hair and you'll end up with hair the texture of candyfloss (trust me i've been there, had the breakage).

My hairdresser is taking it slowly.. which yes is annoying but the best way..

4. Shop around

I am currently waiting on a product from Australia called brilliant white
I have also heard good things about nepro silver toner..
but I will get back to you on the results.

5. Don't worry..

I know its horrible.. but in a few years we will all look back and laugh.

Hope this helps..

If anyone wants to chat msg me

peace

My hair also turned orange. So, I bought Loreal natural match in medium ash and it has worked better than anything else I have tried. The best thing, is to let it grow out, then only put ash tones in your hair.

also...

VERY IMPORTANT!!!!!

don;t try to bleach your hair again,..the consition would suffer loads, and most of all, feria are metallic colours, and you could get a chemical reaction with the bleach.

Regards,

Val

Hey there...

yeah , an ash tone is certainly a better option for you,

since you already have red tones in your hair, it wasn;t a good idea to go for a warm brown when you put the colour,...

after the ash toner, you might want to use L'Oreal silver shampoo to cut out more of the red tones on a regular basis.

good luck\!

Val

I bleached my hair this weekend with Blondissima and then tried a L'Oreal kit that was a light brown (it was called coconut or something) with highlights. After I did it, my hair was blonde/orange! I immediately went out and bought a blonde colour (Feria), coloured my hair again and it was still orange! So last night I tried again with another shade of Feria... it was a caramel light brown (still had highlights in it) and my hair is slightly better, but still "orange"! I asked my daughter this morning (6 years old), "what colour is mommy's hair" and she said "orange". So should I go and get an "ash" blonde/brown? My natural colour is a light golden brown and does have some red in it.

firstly u need to be carful for next time cause over bleaching your can damage your hair so need to use lots of treatment on your hair regulary. u need to not colour your hair for at least 4weeks, due to the high intensity of bleaching and colouring your hair.i personally think you should use a dark blonde or meduium light brown toner depending how darker you want to go. i would recommend you buy the dia wella colour product which puts more shine into the hair. You can get it from salon supplier you can check it out on the sallys website. good luck
