Hey jessica,

Thanks for the lovely comments first of all...

Silver shampoos can help, the secret with them is not to lather them but smother them onto the hair (particularly on the more yellow bits) and leave them in for a good 5 minutes or so, then lather.

Even better then silver Shampoos is Wella's Colour Fresh easy application toners... 8/81 and 10/81 are excellent to cut out the warmth.

Happy Toning,,,,

Regards,

Val

Hi Val, thanks very much. Perhaps I'll give a toner a go (are the purple shampoos any good?) and see how it looks in a week. This forum is brilliant and I really appreciate your advice.
Thanks again!

Hey Jessica...

If the real problem is just the warm tone, then a toner might be able to cut it...

However if you feel that it is not light enough then you would need a fresh set of high-lights.

To safe -guard the hair, perhaps you could go for a t-bar (quarter head) as that is what really makes the colour.

If you are unsure you could also come in for a consultation first, consultations here at colournation are free and with no obligation,

To book yours call us on 0845 88 88 333.

Regards,

Val

Highlight disaster! Help!
G_jessicawhiteley84@gmail.com
Hi,

On Saturday I went to a salon and splurged on a full head of highlights. My natural hair colour is a little darker than mousey brown, and I have a fair complexion (blue eyes, some freckles..). I asked the hairdresser to any blondes with warm tones as my hair somehow has a tendency to pick out reds. Unfortunately, she somehow still selected a caramel-y blonde and the end result has left me with a shade that I can't help but think is.. gingery.

What do you think my options are? Would I need to get a whole head done again to counteract the colour? The roots seem somehow more orangey than the ends, which imagine were blonder from before my appointment on Saturday.

What would you recommend as a solution? I'd also be willing to go for balayage if that might be a good option. Please could you let me know some price ideas too?

Many many thanks!
Jess
