We don't recommend IHR while pregnant. We checked with the manufacturer for you and they advised not to do it.

Interestingly while we can't prove it, we suspect IHR may not be as effective during a woman's period as the hormones are very active at this time. (which I know doesn't affect you at the moment, but may be interesting for others).

IHR & Preganancy

Can you perform IHR on pregnant woman?
Would this either harm the baby by passing chemicals into the system or not work as well due to the hormones? Have you had any woman who have had this done whilst pregnant?

Straightening on dry damaged and bleached hair
G_Anonymous
Hi there!

My hair is longish...couple inches below my shoulders. It is medium/thin thickness and it is wavy/frizzy.

I have used 'sun-in' in my hair, which hasn't completed grown out yet. It has slightly lightened my hair from black to brown.

I have a GHD straightener & oils which i use twice/three times a week. I didn't think this was that frequent, but I am noticing a lot of dryness to the ends and lots of split-ends. I use leave-in conditioners and oils to protect my hair, but it doesn't seem to get better.

I also trim my hair every 6/8 weeks and have a deep conditioning treatment every time.

Could you please advice me if my hair is suitable for the IHR treatment and will it improve its condition? and how long will it last?

Also, how much would it cost...are there different prices for your salons? Please quote me the more cost effective one.

Many Thanks
D

Why so yellow????
G_Anonymous
Is there some reason why, when I ask for 'Ash Blonde', that I always end up with a yellowish colour?

Ive just come back from 'Toni and Guy' and they said that it needed a toner. They bleached my roots and when they washed it the colourist said; "Oh i forgot!-I need to put that toner on", so there at the sink where i had my hair washed, she slapped on the toner.

She washed out the toner two seconds later saying, "it wont make that much difference, it will just knock the warmth out"-which is what i wanted.....

.............. So why does it still look yellow????

All i want is light ash blonde

your local salon was correct IHR can't be done on bleached hair. It is ok on hair that's been coloured however as long as it wasn't too recent.

Cost will vary - although your curly haior may touch your shoulders by the time it's been straightened it may well be past your shoulders this will make it long hair in our eyes. This is likley to put the cost towards £350 and then if your hair is really thick it may cost a bit more than that. It's difficult to be sure until we've seen it.

Regrowth costs about the same as the orginal treatment because it will take just as much time.

hope it helps

Andrew

Hair Straightening
G_Anonymous
Hi
I hope you can help. I stumbled across your website and am very interested in the IHR straightening process. I first heard about this some time last year as it was being offered by my local hairdressing salon. However, when I enquired about it I was informed that I would not be an ideal candidate for this process because I had previously had bleach applied to my hair in the form of highlights. I was told that I would need to grow out all of the bleach before my hair could be permanently straightened. I am now a bit confused because your forum seems to indicate that having bleach on the hair does not exclude you from IHR?! Is this correct? Also, could you give me a rough idea of cost involved. My hair is just touching my shoulders but is extremely thick. Also, what about cost of having re-growth done?

Many thanks for your help.

Hello there.
You can leave your hair to dry naturally or if you would like to blowdry them you can use fudge from Loreal called ERECT.Apply on wet hair and use a hair dryier. That will protect your hair from the heat and make them smoother.

Hi Sarah.
I understand you are a bit confused and I'll do my best to help you make the right decision. In our salon we do the Ionic hair straightning only as we found the Yuko one very damaging. It is very difficult for me to say if it will work on your hair as I haven't seen it.We have very experienced stylists and we've done straightnings on afro hair as well.I would advice you to come to our salon for a free consultation.I have around 50 pictures of our clients you can have a look at: before and after the straightning. And we will answer all you questions. Then if you happy you can book an appointment with us or not.It will be up to you.Hope that will help you decide.
