Re: 'Ionic Hair Retexturisation' vs 'Yuko Straightening'?
by ColourNation on 2010/9/7 19:59:16 Hi there, It is possible to do IHr on a guy, however you would need a certain amount of length to carry out the procedure, which would usually be a good 4 inches all-over. Perhaps it would be a good idea to come in for a consultation first.. You can book for a free consultation on 0845 8888 333. Regards, Val

by chrisvannote@dellmail.com on 2009/4/17 2:32:57 HI, I"ve had both procedures done. Last year, Yuko and this year Bio ionics. At the start of each, I felt that my hair was stiff, dry looking, and not silky as the results I've had in the past with Liscio. Every procedure was done by well experienced, licensed pros. I don't think it's the products...I think it's the quality of the water your hair is washed in. I had years of city water when the LIscio product was done. AFter I had moved to a place with well water, it wasn't as good. SO I tried Yuko, and now the bio ionics. If theres hard water with lots of minerals like iron, copper, etc...like my home water is..it has an effect on the outcome of your procedure.

by andrew on 2008/10/23 10:46:46 just to add this recent kind review we received to this thread.. Marea submitted the following Information: Email .. Location Lincoln Comments I came to your Salon 3 or 4 wks ago to have the Ionic straightening treatment. I was wary as my hair was not in top condition and having tried the Yuko system a couple of yrs ago, I was extra wary because despite claims that Yuko was gentle on hair it completely ruined mine and my sister was told never to have it done again because it was so damaging. Now I know all chemical straightening has to have some detremental effects but the Ionic treatment has absolutely amazed me. My hair has never looked or felt this good, and it has never ever in my whole life been this easy to look after, and believe me I have tried many treatments over the yrs.I now actually feel normal, which only a fellow frizz head will understand. - Thankyou ColourNation. IHR vs Yuko

by andrew on 2008/6/5 10:25:06 Hi Katie, You are right comparison is diffulicult because not many people have had both systems done and those who do may blame a second treatment for a poor result when actually the first straightening may not have been performed correctly which becomes more visible on second application. Here's what we can tell you:- 1) We chose the IHR system because it was the first straightening system to be kind enough on hair to be used on coloured hair. - Our clients tend to like colour ;) and therefore this was the best system for us. 2) The results we have seen from IHR have been softer and more lifelike. Yuko has been said to leave hair a little stiff. 3) We have many clients who have previously had Yuko and then swapped across to IHR (Bio Ionic as it's know in the US). 4) With both systems the experience of the stylist is actually the determining factor for success. 5) We have done hundreds of successful IHR straightenings 6) we have clients who are onto their 8th straightening with us. 7) For me the best moment is when clients leave the salon they're touching their hair and can't believe that it's really the same hair they bwalked in with and that they really get to take it home. 8) Ultimately success is guaged by how the hair is after 3 days. We say that it will be like having naturally straight hair, people with naturally straight hair may need to do a little work to get rid of the effects of sleeping on the hair for example but much much less than curley hair and for many 'wash and go' is possible. In terms of rain and frizz if you read through some of the customer comments one of our clients mentioned that not having to worry about frizz and rain has been a great benefit of the IHR system. Hope this helps and of course you're welcome to come in for a free consultation where we can look at your hair and assess it. Andrew
